Grace is an unmerited favor. It is an undeserved and unearned goodwill, love and acceptance that is fully given to us because of what Christ did on the cross on our behalf. Jesus has paid the price on the cross for us.
The grace we receive is not only for the forgiveness of sins, but also to enjoy supernatural breakthrough.
Our text in 1 Corinthians 15:10 clearly quotes Paul the Apostle as saying that it is by grace that he (Paul) does anything.
Child of God, in engaging the power of grace, people need to see it reflecting in everything we do.
”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”. – Ephesians 2:8.
Being saved by grace is not your effort but God’s gift.
God said to Abraham “ I will make of you a great nation”.
If you are under a spiritual father and you are doing well, that is grace. God promised Abraham in Genesis 12:2 that He will make him (Abraham) a great nation and that he shall be great blessing.
Grace is God’s hands on a man’s life. It is that grace that makes the man great.
Characteristics of Grace
*Grace is a living virtue
*Grace is the influence of the Holy Spirit that works in a man’s life
*The grace of God brings breakthrough and victory that people would love to identify and partner with you.
Did you know that grace can be frustrated, crippled, and paralyzed in your life?
Here are Factors To Watch Out For: 1. Laziness – James 2:17
When you attach laziness to to your life, God’s grace will not work in your life. If you want God’s grace to be active and bring blessings to you, remove laziness. Lazy people gossip and complain a lot. This will obviously lead to poverty.
When God wants to bless you, He gives you a task. Noah is an example of who God blessed and preserved after he carried out the task of building an ark.
2. Lack of Love for God – 1 Corinthians 2:9, Romans 5:5
Love is a covenant channel to receiving grace from God. Do not hesitate to love God so you can receive God’s bountiful blessings.
One way to show love for God is to be punctual in coming to church. Also, give God your quality time for service. While you have the strength, use it for God. It is the love you have for God that attracts His unmerited favour and grace. This means that God’s grace ONLY come to those who love God.
3. Pride – James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5, Proverbs 16:18
This is a silent destroyer of grace. Pride can make you look so arrogant and also make you believe you can do everything by yourself. In James 4:6, God resists the proud and gives GRACE to the HUMBLE. To engage God’s grace for supernatural breakthrough, submit yourself to a higher authority. Grace is our guarantee flight into breakthrough.
Pride goeth before destruction. – Proverbs 16:18
4. Sin – Romans 6:1-2, Romans 8:13, Ezekiel 36:27.
This is an antivirus which eats and destroys grace. I pray that sin will never find its way into your life. Romans 6:1-2 says God forbid that we continue in sin because if we do, grace will not abound in our lives.
Sin is just the problem of man and the problem of the church. If it is dealt with, and the love of God grow in our lives, we will grow in grace above every limit.
I pray for you…
Every breakthrough that is yours will be released to you through grace in Jesus name.
